A Great Perhaps

The moment leaves as quickly

as it arrives, like a head peering

through a doorway only to vanish,

no recognition, nothing but

a pocket of disturbed air.

Often I wonder what happens

to all those futures that

never got their chance to happen;

perhaps they sit in a jar

on a desk next to someone

writing a poem much

like this one.

  1. “what happens to all those futures that never got their chance to happen;”

    This is my favorite line imbedded inside a visual and thought-provoking poem. I will think about this as I go to sleep tonight and allow it to pepper my dream-life with possibilities. I live in awareness of futures that never got to happen, mine and those of others. Infinite numbers of them. All those stories to write.

    1. “All those stories to write”. It’s those stories that give me something to do! 😉 Trying to put them all into existence is real work. A true labor of love. Thank you so much for this comment, Alice.

Thoughts? I love those.
