Mowed Lawn on an August Afternoon

I am worried about my love

of the smell of fresh-cut grass,

my comfort in chopped-up things.

  1. I am worried about my love

of the smell of burgers on the grill

    my comfort in chopped-up things.

Nice poem. I was SO inspired. I couldn’t resist. Thanks. 🙂

  2. Expertly conveyed self reflection. Beautifully macabre, while still remaining light enough to be digested fully in the initial reading. (That choice of words may have something to do with reading the “smell of burgers on the grill” immediately after your piece, but it still stands. Wonderful poem, I really enjoy your work. Thank you for this.

Thoughts? I love those.
